On Wednesday in Beirut, U.S. envoy Amos Hochstein stressed that “there is no time to waste” in securing a ceasefire in Gaza. He believes this would also pave the way for a diplomatic solution to the tensions between Hezbollah and Israeli forces, ahead of upcoming negotiations facilitated by intermediaries.
After meeting with Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, who heads the Amal Movement aligned with Hezbollah, Hochstein stated, “I discussed the proposed ceasefire framework for Gaza with President Berri. We both agree that any further delay is unacceptable and there are no valid excuses for it.”
He noted that achieving this ceasefire would also support efforts to find a diplomatic resolution in Lebanon and help prevent further escalation.
