Could Macron Be Impeached? Radical Left Pushes for Major Political Shake-Up!
The radical left party La France Insoumise is attempting to gather parliamentary backing to impeach President Emmanuel Macron, accusing him of “serious failures” in fulfilling his constitutional responsibilities.
The conflict stems from Macron’s refusal to appoint their nominee, Lucie Castaigne, as Prime Minister following the inconclusive parliamentary elections held in July. Despite their coalition, "La Nouvelle Union Populaire," securing the largest number of seats, no single group achieved a majority in the National Assembly, which remains deeply divided among the left, Macron’s centrists, and the far-right National Rally.
