Russia Claims Victory: Ukrainian Advance Stalled Near Kursk Towns

The Russian military announced on Sunday that it has successfully halted Ukrainian advances near several towns in the Kursk region, where Kyiv has been conducting a ground offensive in recent days. Russian forces reported that Ukrainian troops had approached within about 30 kilometers of the border.

According to the statement, the military countered "penetration attempts" by enemy armored units near the towns of Tolbino and Obshche-Kolodets, located around 25 and 30 kilometers from the border, respectively, and near Gurevly.

The military indicated that airstrikes, drones, and artillery were employed to prevent further advances over the past 24 hours, and additional reserve troops from the "North" group, stationed in the Kharkiv area, were deployed.
