In the Middle East, King Abdullah II of Jordan affirmed on Sunday that his country will not become a battleground and will not jeopardize the safety of its people. This statement comes amid concerns about potential military conflict between Iran and its allies and the Israeli occupation.


According to a statement from the Royal Court, King Abdullah made these remarks during a meeting with a delegation of U.S. congressional aides at the Husseiniya Palace in Amman. The discussion focused on “current regional developments.” The King highlighted the importance of making every effort to de-escalate tensions and achieve a broad-based calm to prevent the region from descending into conflict.
