On Monday, at least 35 individuals perished and 230 others were injured following heavy rains accompanied by severe storms in Jalalabad city and its surrounding areas in eastern Afghanistan, as reported by a local official to Agence France-Presse.
Qureshi Padshahlon, head of the Media and Culture Department in the adjacent province near Pakistan, stated, "Monday evening, rains from thunderstorms resulted in the loss of 35 lives and injuries to 230 others in Jalalabad and some areas of Nangarhar."
