KUWAIT CITY, July 1: Acting on directives from First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and Defense Sheikh Fahad Yousuf Saud Al-Sabah, and under the guidance of Interior Ministry Undersecretary Lieutenant General Sheikh Salem Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the Ministry of Interior initiated an extensive security operation early Monday morning, encompassing areas such as Bneid Al-Gar, Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, and Mutlaa. This action followed the expiration of a grace period during which violators were encouraged to either leave the country or regularize their status. The amnesty period began on March 14, 2024, and was extended until June 30, 2024.

The ongoing campaign, which included operations in Farwaniya, led to the apprehension of over 750 violators of various nationalities, predominantly individuals with absconding cases. These individuals were subsequently referred to relevant authorities for deportation, with appropriate legal actions taken against them. The Ministry noted that inspections are continuing across all governorates, urging cooperation from the public to avoid sheltering violators and encouraging reporting through the emergency hotline, 112.

Furthermore, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousuf and Sheikh Salem Al-Nawaf emphasized compassionate treatment of individuals during security operations, taking into consideration humanitarian aspects during arrests and deportation procedures. Deportation measures were swiftly applied to individuals with expired residencies, absconding cases, and those found working under different sponsors in violation of labor regulations, even if their residency was technically valid.
